MIRROR MIRROR ON THE WALL / ESPELHO MEU, ESPELHO MEU

The film “Mirror Mirror, on the Wall” documents Joana Vasconcelos’ big solo show at the Guggenheim Bilbao Museum – “I’m Your Mirror”- showing the backstage of the exhibition, from the production of the works in the artist’s studio, to the processing of installing the pieced at the museum and finally the opening to the public. The film shares various perspectives on Vasconcelos’ work, including testimonials from the exhibition’s commissioners, Enrique Juncosa and Petra Joos, and informal conversations with the curator Miguel Amado at the artist’s house. With 650,000 visitors, and a daily average of 5,600 visitors, “I’m Your Mirror” was one of the most visited exhibitions ever at the Basque Museum and one of the most viewed exhibitions in the world in 2018; the show was ranked 4th in the «top 10» of the annual contemporary art exhibitions by the The Art Newspaper.
